On 25 March 2026, the UAE Ministry of Economy and Tourism issued Administrative Decision No. (2) of 2026, allowing trade mark applicants to obtain extensions for the submission of legalised/authenticated Powers of Attorney without payment of official fees.

Under the decision, monthly extensions may be granted following the expiry of the original 90-day deadline for submitting a Power of Attorney, to allow applicants additional time to complete the notarisation and legalisation/authentication formalities.

Applicants are required to contact the Trade Mark Office before the expiry of the relevant period to request a further 30-day extension.
