The Egyptian Intellectual Property Authority (EGIPA) has launched virtual Appeal Committees for trade marks and industrial designs. This digital transition marks a milestone aligning with Egypt's National Intellectual Property Strategy.

The shift introduces several immediate procedural adjustments to all trade mark and industrial design appeal proceedings:

• Appeal hearings are now fully virtual and will be convened remotely;
• Supporting evidence must be submitted in both electronic and physical formats;
• Hearing sessions are digitally recorded and stored on EGIPA’s servers; however, these internal archives are not accessible to external parties.
