Copyright and related rights are regulated in Qatar under Law No. 7 of 2002 on the Protection of Copyright and Neighbouring Rights. The Ministry of Commerce and Industry is the authority responsible for copyright-related recordal requests and the issuance of protection certificates.

In April 2026, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry launched five new electronic services relating to copyright and related rights. These include applications for protection certificates, the issuance of “to whom it may concern” certificates (which are also copyright protection confirmations), obtaining copyright deposit extracts, amending copyright deposits, and recording assignments.
