Libya Relaunches Online Trade Mark Publication System
The Libyan Commercial Registry Department has resumed electronic publication of trade marks through its official online portal, following a period of suspension. Approximately 500 trade marks (publication numbers 55261–57597) have now been published and are accessible online.
The statutory opposition period is 30 days from publication.
Practical Considerations
- Trade mark owners should promptly review the newly published marks to assess potential conflicts.
- Trade mark applicants should review their older pending applications, especially those with past or approaching renewal deadlines.
- Ongoing monitoring is highly recommended.
