
Elias Nassif

Elias’ work extends across the MENA region, including the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council: United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman and Kuwait, among others. His main responsibilities include: conducting and advising on trade mark searches; advising on protection, development and commercialisation of brands and copyrighted material; handling trade mark prosecution before trade mark offices and courts; handling trade mark opposition and cancellation actions; handling and advising on enforcement actions involving lookalikes and counterfeits, before administrative enforcement authorities and courts; and drafting, negotiating, and advising on various IP assignment, licensing and settlement agreements.
Elias is a qualified Australian lawyer experienced in both contentious and non-contentious IP matters as well as anti-trust and consumer protection issues. He has worked across the Asia-Pacific and MENA regions managing global IP portfolios for well-known companies. Prior to joining CWB’s Dubai office in 2023, Elias was based in Sydney, Australia, where he was on the IP team of one of the leading global law firms. He has extensive experience in brand development, trade mark prosecution, transactional IP, conducting IP due diligence through complex transactions, and commercialisation of IP assets through licensing and other forms of commercial exploitation.
