Vivianna advises clients on registration, protection and enforcement of trade mark rights across the MENA region. She conducts trade mark clearance searches, prepares trade mark availability reports, drafts and files oppositions, appeals, and counter-statements before trade mark offices and courts, advises on and responds to examination reports, drafts demand letters and infringement opinions, and manages clients’ trade mark portfolios.

Vivianna is a qualified attorney specialising in IP law with experience in both civil and common law jurisdictions. Prior to joining CWB in 2023, Vivianna spent a year at a law firm in Athens, Greece, handling both contentious and non-contentious IP matters. Vivianna also worked for two years as a part-time consultant for a UK based firm, handling trade mark and design filings, oppositions and assignments before the UK IPO. Previously, she worked as an IP Associate for one of the leading IP boutiques in Greece for two years.

In 2019, she completed a traineeship at the EUIPO’s Boards of Appeal in Spain, where she drafted decisions on appeals. Vivianna has extensive experience with registration, prosecution and enforcement of trade marks, multijurisdictional trade mark clearance, IP portfolio management, and complex IP cases. She has represented clients before the courts in trade mark infringement cases and has negotiated and drafted settlement agreements related to trade marks and due diligence.

Experience
  • Represented a leading cosmetics manufacturer before a court in Greece and obtained a preliminary injunction to protect the client’s rights against the unauthorised use of its trade marks by a third party selling products under identical and similar trade marks
  • Drafted decisions relating to designs and trade marks for the EUIPO’s Boards of Appeal and revised the EUIPO’s First Instance Examination and Opposition Department decisions on trade mark oppositions and invalidity
  • Assisted world’s leading food, beverage, fashion and entertainment companies with all trade mark related issues
  • Advised and assisted one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies on trade mark and commercial matters
  • Advised one of the world’s largest chocolate manufacturers on numerous trademark and copyright infringement matters
  • Advised world’s leading companies on adopting their advertising slogans, film titles and brand names according to local regulations
