Rory Moore
- Head of MENA Patents
As Head of MENA Patents, Rory oversees all aspects of CWB’s patent practice across the Middle East and North Africa. With degrees in chemistry and law, and as both an admitted attorney and registered patent attorney, Rory brings three decades of expertise as a seasoned intellectual property professional and active member of the South African Institute of Intellectual Property Law. He is also involved in substantive patent practice, including drafting, prosecuting and enforcing patents across multiple regions and jurisdictions. Rory has built extensive expertise in patent strategy and intellectual property law during his career spanning 30 years.
Prior to joining CWB in 2026, Rory worked in private practice, as in-house patent counsel, and as director of a technology transfer office at the University of KwaZulu-Natal in Durban. He has also served as an IP advisor to a government funding agency, further broadening his experience across academia, industry, and public sector innovation.
