Murad represents major multinational corporations in both contentious and non-contentious IP matters, focusing mostly on patent and trademark prosecution and enforcement in Uzbekistan. He prepares search reports, handles trademark and patent registrations and renewals, provides legal opinions and drafts agreements and other legal documents.

Prior to joining the firm in 2020, Murad worked at another Uzbek IP firm for five years, where he handled trademark and patent prosecution and advised clients on all aspects of trademark and patent protection.

Experience
  • Handled multiple trademark registrations, renewals and assignments for a multinational technology company and advised the same company on various contentious matters in Uzbekistan

  • Advised a leading apparel company on the filing and prosecution of a trademark application in Uzbekistan, as well as on possible legal actions against a national trademark registration in conflict with a prior trademark registration

  • Assisted with multiple provisional refusals against a client’s international trademark registrations in Uzbekistan by arguing distinctiveness of trademarks

  • Assisted the Uzbekistan team with handling several trademark enforcement cases on behalf of a multinational consumer goods company against local infringers, before the Antimonopoly Committee of Uzbekistan, commercial and administrative courts, IPO, and the Agency for Consumer Protection
